With an ongoing commitment toward providing a top-notch education to students, the Department of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Business
at University of the Sciences recently earned full, 10-year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP
). The University’s BS in pharmaceutical and healthcare business and MBA in pharmaceutical and healthcare business programs are included under this accreditation.
“We are pleased to receive this validation of the quality of our business school offerings from ACBSP,” said Andrew Peterson
, PhD, John Wyeth Dean of Mayes College of Healthcare Business and Policy. “This is a great accomplishment for the program and a testament to the quality of education delivered in both the BS and MBA programs.”
Established in 1988, ACBSP is a specialized accreditation association for business education that supports, celebrates, and rewards teaching excellence. It promotes continuous improvement and recognizes excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP is also the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels—from associate through doctoral degree programs.
“Our programs strive to prepare and educate innovative leaders who are focused on improving and shaping healthcare business, policy, and public health,” said Dr. Peterson. “Our expert business faculty are proven practitioners in their field who can inspire and motivate these students to achieve their career goals.”
ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within both the BS and MBA business programs offered at USciences meet the rigorous educational standards established by organization. USciences is now listed among the nearly 1,000 U.S. colleges and universities that offer ACBSP-accredited bachelor and graduate degree business programs.
“USciences has shown its commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said Steve Parscale, PhD, chief accreditation officer of ACBSP. “This accreditation is evidence that USciences is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students.”
Dr. Parscale will present the Certificate of Initial Accreditation to USciences at the ACBSP Conference 2015 in Philadelphia on June 14. For more information about the business programs offered at USciences, visit usciences.edu/mayes
